Why Should Anyone Care
about a junkie?
Actually, I get asked this a lot. Why should anyone care about Kurt Cobain? He was just a useless heroine junkie! The fact is, people who liked Kurt didn't like him, or look up to him because of the drugs he took, they liked the talent, and being able to use the music as expression. "Punk is musical freedom. It's saying, doing and playing what you want. In Webster's terms, Nirvana means freedom from pain, suffering and the external world and that's pretty close to my definition of punk rock." - Kurt Cobain For anyone who really respects Kurt Cobain, It was for the music, the expression, the freedom. And above all, his talent as a musician. Now I'm not saying that I'm for drug usage. I am 100% against drug usage of any kind. But you must understand and take into consideration the following:
Here is a quote from Tom Grant's (the private investigator) Case manual entitled " The Kurt Cobain Murder Investigation". " As we throw darts of criticism at the drug addict, how many of us can say that our own flaws and imperfections deserve any less criticism? Kurt was determined to not let greed control his life. He lost some minor battles on occasion because of pressure from a few of those around him, but flaws and all, this guy was for real! I grew to admire Kurt as I learned more about him." (please buy Tom Grant's case manual, found at his website http://www.cobaincase.com. Proceeds go to further investigation of the case and hopefully someday a possible reopening of the case) All in all, Kurt was not proud at all of being a junkie! He tried several times to get off of the drugs. What you have to understand is HEROINE IS NOT EASY TO GET OFF OF! "Drugs are a waste of time. They destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with your self-esteem. -Kurt Cobain After reading this, I hope you'll reconsider your thoughts about the infamous heroine junkie, Kurt Cobain. To really get an understanding of Kurt, his journals are on sale at most bookstores, but you can also check http://www.amazon.com. They really give you a TRUE, UNFILTERED idea of who Kurt really was, as opposed to the fabrication you see in books. |
